The West Virginia Department of Human Services is joining communities across the nation in celebrating November as National Adoption Month. Governor Jim Justice proclaimed November as Adoption Awareness Month to recognize the contributions of adoptive families and emphasize the importance of advocating for children and youth still awaiting forever families. Kylee Hassan from Mission West Virginia told reporters there are almost 6,000 children in need of a home in West Virginia…
“Those children could be with foster families, they could be with other relatives, they could be in a group home – a residential facility, and so we just want to find families for those children.”
