State attorneys general, including West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey, have joined the Justice Department in suggesting ways to put an end to what they say is Google’s unlawful monopoly over internet search engines. AG Morrisey said vigorous competition protects consumers and encourages the economy. ABC’s Jim Ryan says Google generated $49 billion in the third quarter of 2024…
“Federal regulators and at least one court have said that the browser gives Google an unfair advantage over its competitors. In a statement, Google said the DOJ demand for a Chrome spinoff represents unprecedented government overreach.”
