West Virginia’s Department of Health and Human Resources has joined with the state’s Bureau of Behavioral Health to promote suicide awareness during National Suicide Prevention Month. The 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline in West Virginia offers 24/7 access to trained crisis counselors. They can help people experiencing mental health-related distress including thoughts of suicide, a mental health or substance abuse crisis, or any other kind of emotional distress. 988 also serves as the Veterans Crisis Line. Additional behavioral health resources include HELP4WV.COM which serves as a contact point for all West Virginians seeking help for themselves or a loved one.
