With thirteen hundred and twenty department of highways employees behind him, each representing a separate project, Governor Jim Justice this week celebrated the success of West Virginia’s Roads To Prosperity program. Created off a special bond issue in 2017, the program has utilized $2.8 billion dollars to improve and create new roads in the Mountain State. Tourism Director Chelsea Ruby said the improved roads have brought more visitors to the state…
“Each year, West Virginia welcomes 75 million visitors to the state and each and every one of those 75 million visitors is driving. And like I said, it used to be that our communications focused on issues – needing to fix potholes and what not. But today, that communication is very different.”
