The death of a highway worker last week and the severe injury of another in January drove home the point of Workzone Awareness Week in West Virginia. The West Virginia Division of Highways wants drivers to slow down and pay attention when traveling in work areas. “We’ve been in situations where we’ve come close to getting hit before and people don’t pay attention. I mean, I’m not blaming no one. Everyone has come into near misses and everything, but I know I have learned my lesson. I pay more attention driving. I watch my speed.”
