Engineers, search and rescue, and recovery teams from the West Virginia National Guard are in northern Florida to help with response efforts to Hurricane Milton. Approximately 40 guard members from Charleston and Summerville are ready with skid steers, front loaders and other equipment and will deploy to impacted communities as determined by state and local officials. The hurricane made landfall Wednesday night on Florida’s Gulf Coast near Tampa.
