West Virginia Receives Grant For CHIP Program

July 5th, 2024 by WCBC Radio

West Virginia has received a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for Children’s Health Insurance Program School-Based Services.  The grant enables essential health services directly within schools, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive academically and personally.  The state will receive at least $2.5 million over three years for school health services through Medicaid and CHIP. Funding supports efforts to connect children to critical health care services, especially mental health services, at school.
