An injunction filed by the Wood County Board of Education may be holding up the Westi Virginia High School football playoffs. The West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission changed the way high school football teams were classified in August. Over twenty schools were moved down a class and when playoff brackets were released, four schools lost position including Hampshire in Romney. David Price of the WVSSAC told reporters said injunctions could delay the playoffs…
“We can’t pick and choose which one we’re going to follow so that would be up to a higher court to decide that. We would take a look at what steps next would be necessary for us to take for that decision to be made and you know, it may, uh, hopefully it can be done quickly. If not, then we would have to look at possibly postponing or moving back a week or two until that decision is made.”
