October 1st, 2024 by WCBC Radio

West Virginia’s Nursing Workforce Expansion Program, established two years ago to address the state’s nursing shortage, has helped the state’s colleges and universities produce an all-time high number of nursing graduates. Over $46 million dollars has been invested since 2022 to expand and create nursing programs around West Virginia.  Governor Jim Justice said the initiative ensures jobs are being filled with the best training possible…

“We have just graduated or are in the process of graduating right at 700 nurses in West Virginia in one year. It is unbelievable how important this is and what an incredible success. You know, we should be really, really, really proud and really happy about that.”
