New statewide emergency medical services protocols have rolled out to first responders in West Virginia. The design of the new protocols will provide faster decision-making capabilities in the field, allowing responders to think critically and address communication barriers in areas with limited telecommunications access. The new protocols are part of Governor Jim Justice’s “Answer The Call” initiative to expand EMS capacity.
