The City of Cumberland Engineering Department, on behalf of Belt Construction, would like to notify the public that residents of the Decatur Heights and Downtown Region will experience intermittent shutdowns and reductions in pressure throughout the evening on Monday, 8/22/2022, as crews work to connect the new water main to the existing system. Water service is estimated to be restored by 5am on Tuesday, 8/23/2022. 

 

Additional information will be released in the event the planned outage area needs to be expanded or the duration needs extended.

 

Efforts to restore the roadways in the Decatur Heights area are expected to begin on 8/24/2022, depending on weather and construction progress next week.

 

Traffic control devices will be in place to detour vehicles around the work area.

 

Residents are advised to avoid the area as much as possible during this time to allow for the work to be completed safely and successfully.
