Daniel Monrose Jr, 39 of Cumberland, was arrested on a District Court Bench Warrant for Violation of Probation. Monrose was convicted of Trespass: Private Property and received a 90-day suspended sentence along with 24-months of Supervised Probation. He is being held without bond pending a bail review in District Court.
Mariah Nicole Gomer, 25 of Ridgeley, WV, was served two (2) Circuit Court Bench Warrants for Failure to Comply – Violation of Pretrial Release. Case 1 charges include CDS: Possession-Not Cannabis and Case 2 charges include 3 counts each of CDS: Possession-Not Cannabis, CDS: Possession With Intent to Distribute: Narcotics, and CDS Distribution-Narcotics. Gomer is being held without bond pending a bail review in Circuit Court.
Matthew Alan Portmess, 41 of Frostburg, was arrested on two (2) Warrants. A District Court bench warrant for Failure to Appear for trial based on a Driving Without A License charge and a Circuit Court bench warrant for Failure to Appear for a Violation of Probation associated with a CDS: Possession-Not Cannabis conviction where he received a 1-year jail term with all but 144-days suspended and 2-years Supervised Probation. Deputies were able to locate Portmess hiding in a closet inside his Frostburg residence. He is currently being held without bond pending bail reviews in both District and Circuit Court.
Demond Arthur Scott Sr, 37 of Cumberland, Circuit Court Bench Warrant for Violation of Probation due to a recent Grand Jury Indictment related to CDS: Distribution charges. Scott was convicted of Theft Scheme – $100 to < $1,500 in 2022 and sentenced to a 5-year jail term with all but 2-years suspended, 3-years Supervised Probation and five restitutions totaling $990.80. Scott is being held without bond at the Allegany County Detention Center pending his VOP hearing in January.
Thomas Hayes Brown, 57 of Cumberland, was served a Circuit Court Bench Warrant Violation of Pre-Trial Release. Brown is facing charges including: 2 counts of felony Sex Abuse Minor: House/Family, 2 counts of felony Sex Offense: 3rd Degree, 2 counts Assault-2nd Degree, 2 counts of Displaying Obscene Material to Minor and 2 counts of False Imprisonment. Originally released on a $20,000 Corporate Bond back in October, Brown’s bond was reinstated and he was released from the Allegany County Detention Center pending his next hearing and Jury Trial scheduled in February.
Charles Tivis Dearing Sr, 41 of Cumberland, was arrested on a Circuit Court Body-Attachment Warrant for Failure to Appear for Child Support Hearing. Dearing was released on his own recognizance by the Court Commissioner.
