On 06/18/2024 at approximately 3:00 PM an officer from the Cumberland City Police Department initiated a traffic stop on I-68 W/B prior to exit 42. During the traffic stop the officer made contact with Eric Brewington, whom was a passenger in the vehicle. The officer learned that Brewington had been served a final protective order barring him from having any contact with the operator of the vehicle. The order was confirmed to still be active and Brewington was placed under arrest. Brewington was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center for central booking. Brewington received a hearing before a District Court Commissioner and was released on an unsecured $1,000.00 bond.
