Local Veterans may want to reach out for assistance with filing claims under the PACT Act. Passed last year by President Biden, the legislation allows Veterans who were exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange, and other toxic substances to apply for benefits they may not have been previously eligible to receive. Joshua Jacobs is the Veteran’s Administration’s Undersecretary and told reporters that the PACT Act is probably the VA’s largest expansion of benefits and healthcare for service members who have been affected by toxins in their military careers…
If a Veteran files for benefits before August 9th, they will be eligible to backdate their benefits to August 10th of last year when the bill was signed by President Biden.
