Widespread layoffs began in the US Department of Health and Human Services this week. The layoffs are ultimately expected to affect about 10,000 employees from areas including the FDA, NIH, and the Centers for Disease Control. US Senator Chris Van Hollen says the employees aren’t the only ones affected…

  

“People will die earlier than they would have. People will not be cured from diseases that they would have been cured by. People will not have the treatments they need to address their diseases. So, this is going to make America a lot less healthy.”
