It was not a completely smooth rollout this week for COVID-19 vaccination clinics at UPMC Western Maryland but by the end of Friday 1,000 doses will have been administered. The two-day clinic, held in the health system’s auditorium, had to be put together quickly as notice was not provided by the state until just a few days ago. With 1,000 doses available, the clinic was by appointment-only, leading to long holding times on the phone and many busy signals for those trying to schedule by the end of the day Wednesday. UPMC Western Maryland President Michelle Martz dicussed the process on WCBC's "Dave Norman Show” Thursday morning.
