On Thursday May 23rd, 2024 at approximately 7:47 am officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 10 block of South Street for a reported motor vehicle crash and unauthorized use report. Upon the officer’s arrival they spoke with the victim, who alleged that Devin Shreve had taken their vehicle without permission, and had wrecked the vehicle. Officers spoke with Shreve who was irate, and creating a disturbance. Officers observed evidence of impairment while speaking with Shreve, and additionally spoke with witnesses to the incident. Witnesses indicated that they had observed Shreve exit the vehicle stumbling and observed him to throw a bottle of liquor into an adjacent yard. Shreve was placed under arrest and later taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was held on a $5,000 bond.
Arrest: Devin Alexander Shreve, age 28, Cumberland Maryland.
Charges: DUI Related Citations, Unauthorized Use, Theft less than $100, Disorderly Conduct, Disturbing the Peace.
