Former President Donald Trump is going to help raise money for Dan Cox, Maryland's Republican candidate for governor who lags behind Democratic nominee Wes Moore both in the polls and in fundraising. Trump will hold a fundraiser for Cox next month at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.
The HILL was the first to report that it will cost $1,776 to get in the door and $25,000 to get your picture taken with Trump and Cox.
There has been no comment from the Cox campaign so far, but a spokesman for the Moore campaign released a statement that said, "election deniers stick together," and that Cox is going to Florida to, in his words, "kiss the ring."
A poll released this week by Goucher College shows that 53 percent of voters plan to vote for Wes Moore in the November general election, with 31 percent planning to support Cox and just 9 percent undecided.
