Truck Safety Meeting Looks at Possibilities

Cumberland City Police Chief Chuck Ternent recently gathered city, state, and government representatives together at the public safety building to discuss concerns regarding dangers posed by truck traffic moving through the city. While the state highway administration is currently updating signage to encourage trucks to slow down coming eastbound into the city, other ideas were brainstormed including reopening the Big Savage Mountain weigh station and educating truck drivers about the area’s unique hazards.
