Another scenic railroad in the region is celebrating a victory – the Cass Railroad in Cass, West Virginia cut the ribbon on a restored Trout Run Bridge – a part of the excursion line that had been closed since floods in 1985. The original hand-stacked bridge was replaced with a ballast deck bridge reopening 15 miles of track that had been washed away. Commissioner of Highways Jimmy Wriston praised the workers who sometimes put in 12-14 hour work days since 2019 to get the project completed, hauling materials 5 miles by rail to the worksite…
