Trailer Fire in Oldtown

December 31st, 2024 by WCBC Radio

Almost three dozen firefighters responded to a fire in Oldtown Tuesday morning.  The fire was called in by a neighbor at 11:12 a.m. at Old Braddock Trail in Oldtown.  A house trailer on the property sustained $3,000 in damage.  The trailer was owned by James Fort and the fire took 20 minutes to extinguish.  No injuries were sustained.  Squatters have been known to be using the trailer as a shelter. The trailer had not been permanently inhabited since approximately 2003. The fire spread from the structure into the woods, causing a small brush fire as well. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Western Region Office at 301-766-3888. Tipsters may remain anonymous.
