On June 11, 2024, An Officer of the Cumberland Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for numerous traffic violations. The Officer made contact with the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle. The Officer then requested her driver’s license and registration. The drivers stated that she did not possess her license and provided a name and date of birth. Due to the Officers observations, he requested a Police K9 to conduct a free air sniff of the vehicle. The K9 was deployed and proceeded to sniff the exterior of the vehicle for the odor of Narcotics. The K9 Officer advised of a Positive alert. The Officer advised the driver that the K9 indicated a positive alert for the odor of narcotics. During the search of the vehicle, Allegany County Dispatch notified the Officer that they did not locate any license belonging to the name the driver provided. The Officer then asked the driver if she provided a false name. The driver admitted to providing a false name because she has a warrant out of Federick County Maryland. The driver then provided her real name. She was then identified as Ashley Marie Decarlo. The Officer was then advised that Decarlo has a Bench warrant form the Circuit Court of Frederick County Maryland. During the search of the vehicle Officers located a drugs and paraphernalia. Decarlo received three traffic charges. Asley Decarlo was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center Central Booking. Decarlo has a Detainer for her warrant from Frederick County, Maryland.
Arrest: Ashley N. Decarlo, age 37, Cumberland Maryland.
Charges: CDS possession cocaine, obstructing, false statement, Driving Suspended. Frederick County Circuit Court FTA.
