Cumberlands Annual New Year’s Eve Celebration / Ball Drop will take place this Tuesday, December 31st, from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.  To ensure the safety of attendees and minimize traffic disruptions, several temporary changes to the downtown traffic pattern will be implemented. These measures will help maintain smooth traffic flow while accommodating the event. Traffic adjustments and no parking will be in effect from 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.  During this time, the following changes will apply:

• Traffic on Baltimore Street, from either Greene Street or Washington Street, will be allowed to continue down North or South Mechanic St. Baltimore Street will be closed between Mechanic and George St.

• Centre Street @ Dexter Place, will be closed during the entire event.  All traffic on Centre Steet must turn up Dexter Place toward Geroge Street.

• Liberty Street @ Frederick Street will be closed during the entire event.

Traffic will also be temporarily restricted on the Baltimore St. bridge with a detour in place during the planned fireworks display. This will begin at 9 p.m. and continue through the end of the event. Please be mindful of all traffic control devices and plan accordingly to accommodate travel through downtown during this timeframe.
