The Rediscover Cumberland Community Celebration and Parade will take place this Saturday, November 16th, from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. To ensure the safety of attendees and minimize traffic disruptions, several temporary changes to the downtown traffic pattern will be implemented. These measures will help maintain smooth traffic flow while accommodating the event.
Traffic adjustments will be in effect from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. During this time, the following changes will apply:
- Southbound traffic on Mechanic Street will be detoured. Drivers will not be allowed to turn onto Frederick Street and will be directed to continue south on Mechanic Street toward Baltimore Street.
- Northbound traffic on Mechanic Street will only be permitted to turn left onto Baltimore Street, heading toward Washington Street.
- Traffic on Bedford Street will be redirected to continue onto Mechanic Street toward Baltimore Street.
- Traffic on Baltimore Street, from either Greene Street or Washington Street, will be restricted to right-hand turns onto Mechanic Street only.
- Traffic on Queen City Drive will not be allowed to turn onto Baltimore Street between Queen City Drive and George Street; this section of Baltimore Street will be closed.
- Northbound traffic on George Street will be restricted to right-hand turns onto Baltimore Street, as access to Rose's Plaza will only be available from Queen City Drive
- Centre Street @ Dexter Place, will be closed during the entire event. All traffic on Centre Steet must turn up Dexter Place toward Geroge Street.
Once the parade concludes, roads will be reopened, with the exception of Baltimore Street that runs through the downtown mall, Centre Street @ Dexter Place and Liberty Street.
