Town Clock Dedication Will Be Live-streamed Wednesday

December 31st, 2024 by WCBC Radio

If you can’t make it downtown on Wednesday, WCBC Radio will livestream on Facebook the dedication of the new Town Clock at 1pm from the intersection of Greene, Washington, and Baltimore Streets. The clock was made possible by community donations and the Let’s Beautify Cumberland committee.  Ed Mullaney of LBC! talked with WCBC, saying public and private support made the project successful…

“We did a lot of work the last year to get it to happen, but when you see people pull together like WCBC, you guys helped kick start it with donations and Dave and C&G Enterprise and the Getty family.”

Mullaney said the dedication ceremony will be about half an hour in length…

“The public is invited. We will have some hot chocolate and coffee. And we have a ceremony that will include the presentation of the colors. We’ll have some speeches, some singing – the National Anthem. And just a dedication of the clock and turning the clock over to the city who will be maintaining it from now on.”
