The Downtown Development Commission recently sent out a request for local artists to submit their inspiration for art on the wall of the CBIZ building at Mechanic and Baltimore Streets. DDC Executive Director Melinda Kelleher says a number of proposals were received and have been narrowed down to three choices to decorate the city intersection…
"Three finalists are each given $2,500 to further develop their ideas for their creations. They will present those soon and then the committee will pick a final one. They don't necessarily have to be paintings, they could be 3D sculpture they could be painting so it could be a lot of different things."
Kelleher also said that once that installation is complete, the city will be looking for more ideas for future art installations around the city.
