On November 23rd, 2022 at 9:45pm officers of the Cumberland Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of Liberty Street. The officer contacted the operator, Zachary Crawford, and advised him of the infractions observed. Crawford then attempted to pull away from the officers before stopping a short distance away. Officers began to order Crawford from the vehicle, which he refused to do. Crawford then threatened to harm the officers on scene, stated he was going to get a weapon, and began reaching into the passenger area of his vehicle. Officers removed Crawford from his vehicle and after a subsequent search of his person and vehicle for weapons a realistic AK-47 style airsoft gun was located in the area in which Crawford reached for. Crawford was placed under arrest and taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was held without bond.
Arrest: Zachary Jordan Crawford, age 26, Cumberland Maryland.
Charges: Threat of Mass Violence, Conceal a Dangerous Weapon, two counts of Disorderly Conduct, Disturbing the Peace, and Fail to Obey.
