The Allegany County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting its third Citizen’s Police Academy. The purpose is for citizens to become familiar with the operations of the Sheriff’s office and to witness the deputies in action. Sessions will be held on Wednesdays from 6pm until 9pm from March 5 until May 7 when there will be a public graduation ceremony. Applications are now being accepted online. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, be a first-time participant, and consent to a criminal background check.
