The theme of National Library Week this year is “There’s more to the story…” illustrating the fact that in addition to the books in library collections, libraries offer so much more. Many libraries now lend items like museum passes, games, musical instruments, and tools. The Allegany County Library system will be celebrating this year by showcasing the new ALCS Express, a library outreach van that will make appearances at different branches during the week of April 24th. A complete list of activities is available on the library system’s website. National Library Week was started in 1958 and is sponsored by the American Library Association.
