A tax holiday on clothing, shoes, and backpacks is going on through Saturday in Maryland to help families save money on back-to-school purchases. Clothing and shoes up to $100 in price will be exempt from the state’s 6% sales tax. Brooke Lierman, Maryland State Comptroller, spoke to WCBC News about the tax holiday, saying that though the state loses out on tax revenue, it benefits the state’s citizens and local business owners.
