Allegany County Public Schools’ Superintendent, Mr. Jeffrey S. Blank, has announced the appointment of the new Assistant Supervisor of Special Education. Dr. Tonya Detrick-Grove will assume this role, effective July 1, 2024. Dr. Detrick-Grove has been an employee of Allegany County Public Schools for 22 years. Over the years, she has held several positions within the system, and has spent the last 11 years in administrative positions. Dr. Detrick-Grove holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, Master’s Degrees in Special Education and Administration and Supervision, and a Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership, with a specialization in Special Education. “Throughout my career I have been an advocate for student success. Whether it was in the classroom, as a special education facilitator, or as a school administrator, I wanted students to have the skills needed to become successful citizens. This new role will allow me to continue to support students, parents, schools, and the community for our future.
