On Monday, March 3rd, 2025, an officer with the Cumberland Police Department observed a Mitsubishi SUV fail to stop as required in the area of Industrial Blvd and Springdale St. A traffic stop was then initiated and contact was made with the two occupants. During the course of the stop, the operator of the vehicle, Dustin Jacob Coble, 24, of Everett PA, was found to be in possession of a stolen handgun, as well as multiple types of suspected CDS and CDS packaging materials. The passenger, Rashad Dennis Whitfield, 27, of Baltimore MD, was also found to be in possession of a quantity of suspected crack cocaine. As a result, both subjects were placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for processing. Whitfield was issued a Criminal Citation for CDS possession and released, pending trial in District Court. Coble was Transported to the Central Booking Unit at the Allegany County Detention Center where he awaits an Initial Appearance with the District Court Commissioner.
