Allegany County’s new State’s Attorney tells WCBC News that unfortunately the Coronavirus pandemic has done nothing to slow the opioid crisis in the county and says, in fact, the problem is growing. James Elliot was sworn in to office last month succeeding Mike Twigg, who was recently appointed judge of Allegany County Circuit Court. Elliot, the former district public defender for Allegany and Garrett counties, joined WCBC’s “Dave Norman Show” Friday and he said while his office prosecutes a wide range of criminal cases, the overwhelming majority of those cases are drug
