The Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee heard testimony last week on a bill which would prohibit any juvenile who is convicted of sexual assault or rape from attending any school that receives State funding. It also would require the reporting of these offenders to the schools. Senator Mike McKay serves on the committee and said the bill has strong support, but there was testimony challenging the bill. McKay added that state agencies must do a better job.
