State Board of Revenue Estimates

September 30th, 2024 by WCBC Radio

Maryland’s Comptroller Brooke Lierman says she remains “cautiously optimistic” about the state’s economic performance and the resilience of the economy.  The state Board of Revenue Estimates released its latest forecast late last week, showing a mostly flat performance with a modest uptick for fiscal 2026, but a large structural deficit of $1 billion still exists…

“Notably, there’s been an $88.4 million increase in FY 25 revenue compared to the March estimate. This is the first official estimate for FY 26.  I think it’s also important to note the economic outlook has not changed compared to the expectations outlined in March. Revenue growth in the state is still expected to be slow but positive.”
