Maryland’s Department of Transportation is pursuing Federal grant monies for improvement to the heavily congested Interstate 495 and I-270 highway corridors.  The program envisions opportunities to improve transit and multimodal access and spur economic growth on I-495 and I-270.  Improvements planned include express bus options in Maryland, ridesharing incentives and parallel transportation improvements along the MARC Brunswick Line.  A comprehensive planning study for I-270 is also planned.  Open houses in Montgomery and Frederick counties are planned for the fall where the public can provide input.
