On Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at approximately 11:31 AM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department stopped a vehicle in the area of St. Mary’s Avenue and Caroline Street.  Two occupants of the vehicle were identified as Joshua Hoenicka and Jesse Short.  A Police K-9 was utilized which resulted in a positive alert for the odor of drugs in the vehicle.  A search of the vehicle and occupants were conducted.  Hoenicka and Short were found to be in possession of suspected crack cocaine.  Hoenicka and Short were issued criminal citations and released pending trial.
