Sports Books Have Added $45 Million In Taxes For December

Sports bettors in Maryland wagered over $637 million dollars in December. The 11 mobile and 13 retail sports betting platforms in the state contributed $46.5 million in taxes to the state for December, almost twice the amount from 2023.  The retail sportsbook at Long Shot’s in Frederick reopened under Caesar’s Sportsbook after being closed since June. Since sportsbook betting began in Maryland in 2021, $135 million dollars has went to the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future Fund.
