Maryland’s sports wagering market had an outstanding October with almost $600 million dollars in wagers placed, bringing in $7 million in tax revenue to the state. Sports wagering is available in Maryland on 11 mobile platforms and at 12 retail locations. The tax revenue collected was a 21% increase compared to the October 2023 figure of $5.8 million. Bets placed in October were the highest recorded since sports wagering began in December 2021. Winners collected over $540 million in payouts.
