September 11th, 2024 by WCBC Radio

Over $377 million dollars in wagers were placed by gamers in August through the retail and mobile sports books in Maryland.  That brought more than twice the tax revenue to the state than the previous August – a total of $5.6 million dollars.  Wager totals increased 43% over August of 2023.  The Blueprint for Maryland’s Future Education Fund, where the tax money goes, surpassed $100 million for the first time.
