Not taking a field sobriety test may have been a bad choice for Jason Buckel, Maryland’s House Minority leader. Buckel was stopped and later arrested in mid-June on DUI charges. A special prosecutor has been appointed in the case from Frederick County and he has filed an intention to seek an enhanced penalty which could result in two months of jail time and/or a $500 fine. Buckel is going to be represented in the matter by Attorney Lee Beeman. A court date is currently set for September.
WCBC news reached out to Delegate Buckle for a statement, he was traveling and did not have any comment at this time.
