In 2019 Delegate Adrienne Jones made history when she was both the first female and first black to be elected as Maryland’s Speaker of the House. In January more history will be made as Wes Moore will be sworn in as the state’s first black governor. During a stop in Cumberland , Speaker Jones said she doesn’t really focus on color, or the historical significance, but rather prefers to think about the quality of the individuals and the work that was put in to attain these leadership positions…
