On Monday, November 25th, 2024, the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence on South Waverly Terrace for the report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, it was learned that a male and female subject had been involved in a verbal altercation inside the residence. Due to previous issues in the home, a temporary Protective Order had been issued by the Allegany County District Court for the male subject involved in the incident. At this time, the subjects were separated and the male subject was served with the order. He was advised to have no more contact with the female or he would be in violation of the order. The male subject then left the residence and officers cleared the scene.

A short time later, officers were again called to respond to the residence. Upon arrival, officers were provided with video footage of the male subject re-entering the residence and yelling and cursing at the female, violating the order that had just been served. As a result, Montana Wiliam Blank, 30, of Cumberland MD, was placed under arrest. He was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an Initial Appearance where he was released on his own recognizance.
