Cumberland City Firefighters will have a short ceremony Wednesday morning to remember those killed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in New York City and Washington D.C. Fire Chief Shannon Adams said people can gather at the fire station on the corner of Mechanic and Bedford Streets for the ceremony which will start at 8:46 am – the time the first plane hit the Twin Towers in New York. The Flight 93 Memorial in Stoystown, Pennsylvania will have a public observance beginning at 9:45 am featuring the ringing of the Bells of Remembrance.
