While Gov. Larry Hogan’s COVID RELIEF Act is debated in the Maryland Senate, Democrats in the same chamber put forward their own plan as a $520 million amendment that seeks to add additional support and resources to people and businesses impacted by the pandemic. A multi-level package, the COVID Recovery Now Amendment, includes funding for schools, people not included in Hogan’s proposal, non-profit and commercial businesses, unemployment insurance and other assistance.
