Before he was Secretary of Housing and Community Development for the State of Maryland, Jake Day was on the city council of Salisbury, Maryland. His downtown underwent a similar transformation to Cumberland’s Baltimore Street. He told WCBC that a group from Cumberland went to check out Salisbury’s design when deciding what to do in the city here…
“I talked to Mayor Morriss and heard there was a contingent that came down and looked at that and said, ‘this is what we’re going to do.’ And you did it and you did it even better! And it pains me to admit that but it’s so true. The details are just right and I love this space. I can’t wait to keep coming back.”
