As a result of the Chase Street shooting investigation of August 9th an arrest warrant was obtained for Aiyontae Michael Moye, age 18, of Baltimore charging him with home invasion, felony assault, use of a firearm in a crime of violence and related charges. On August 11, 2022, at approximately 6:00 am members of the Maryland State Apprehension Task Force assisted by the US Marshals service observed Moye in the northwest area of Baltimore. Upon being approached by the police Moye entered a vehicle and fled. A pursuit ensued until the suspect was involved in a crash and continued to flee on foot. He was subsequently apprehended on a rooftop a short distance away.
Moye was subsequently transported to Allegany County and is in the custody of the Cumberland Police awaiting his initial appearance. Further charges are pending in Baltimore City.
The three primary offenders in the Chase Street incident have been arrested and charged. The investigation is ongoing and other related arrests are expected. The Cumberland Police would like to thank the public for their support during this investigation.
