***Adult Arrest***
On July 26th, 2024, around 4:50 pm, Officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 800 Block of Lafayette Avenue for the report of a trespassing complaint. Upon arrival, Officers were advised by the complainant that Valerie Lynn Peck was trespassing. Officers made contact with Peck who was ordered to leave the property. Peck refused to leave the property and was subsequently placed under arrest. Peck was served with a Maryland Criminal Complaint Citation and released pending her trial at District Court.
Arrest: Valerie Lynn Peck, age 45, Ridgeley, West Virginia.
Charge: Trespassing

On July 26th, 2024, Officers of the Cumberland Police Department served Multiple Arrest Warrants on Amber Rose Westfall. The Allegany District Court issued the warrants for several charges, including failure to comply. Westfall was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance where she was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center and held without bond.
Arrest: Amber Rose Westfall, age 29, Springfield, West Virginia.
Charges: Fraud to Avoid Prosecution, Obstructing and Hindering, CDS Possession, Possession of Paraphernalia, Burglary 4th Degree, Trespassing Posted Property, Contraband in Place of Confinement, Failure to Comply – Obstructing and Hindering, Escape 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Justice x2, Disturbing the Peace, Possession of Paraphernalia.
***Adult Arrest***
On July 26th, 2024, Officers of the Cumberland Police Department served an Arrest Warrant on Shauwn Kirby Layton. The warrant was issued by the Allegany District Court for failure to comply. Layton was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center and held without bond.
Arrest: Shauwn Kirby Layton, age 53, Cumberland, Maryland.
Charges: Trespass Private Property x2, Disturb the Peace, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing and Hindering, Assault 2nd Degree
***Criminal Summons Served***
On July 26th, 2024, Officers of the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Leslie Ronald Jenkins. The summons was issued by the Allegany District Court for Assault in the Second Degree. Jenkins was served with the summons and released.
Arrest: Leslie Ronald Jenkins, Age 68, Cumberland, Maryland.
Charge: Assault 2nd Degree

On July 26th, 2024, Officers of the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Rodney Wayne Bible. The summons was issued by the Allegany District Court for Assault in the Second Degree. Bible was served with the summons and released.
Arrest: Rodney Wayne Bible, Age 67, Cumberland, Maryland.
Charge: Assault 2nd Degree

Criminal Citation
On Friday May 31, 2024, Officers of the Cumberland Police Department were dispatched to a Park Street Business. Upon arrival Officers made contact with the store managers. The Officer was advised that a subject had removed items without paying for them. The subject was identified as Dawn Williams. Ms. Williams was issued a Criminal Citation and released.
Arrest: Dawn Williams, age 55, Cumberland Maryland.
Charge: Criminal Citation Theft less than $100.00.
