Congressman Dutch Ruppersberger said this week that the perception that schools have all the resources they need to reopen is far from the truth. Appearing on WBAL Radio, the Maryland Democrat pitched the American Rescue Plan, the $1.9 trillion package put forth by President Joe Biden. It includes $170 billion for schools, with most of that money going to help schools buy personal protective equipment, hire more nurses and janitors, and implement physical distancing measures. Of that money, $3 billion would be directed to Maryland. He defended the price tag on the bill, saying that even if many schools in the state have the resources they need to open right now, that's not the case everywhere….
