The State of Maryland announced on Wednesday that the Maryland Energy Administration will direct $24 million to 31 projects over 13 different school districts throughout the state to implement large-scale electrification and solar projects. The funds include nearly $3 million earmarked for Garrett County, including $2.5 million for the electrification of the boiler system at Route 40 Elementary School and additional funds for a ground-mounted solar project. Maryland has a goal of a 60% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2031.
